Never have I ever taken my neighbour’s bread at a formal dinner.
It can be quite confusing to remember which bread plate and which glasses belong to you. This is especially true when sat at a round table.
1. Make fists with both hands, but keep pointing with your index finger.
2. Now, place your hands on the table.
3. Observe how the left hand forms a “b” shape for bread and the right hand forms a “d” for drink.
4. So, that makes the bread plate and butter knife on the left yours, and your drinks are to your right.
Bread left. Drink right.
